September 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day
World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September promotes worldwide commitment and action to prevent suicides. On average, almost 3000 people commit suicide daily. For every person who completes a suicide, 20 or more may attempt to end their lives.
Show your support by writing love on your wrist or wearing yellow and by simply being there for someone in a crisis. Everyone needs help sometimes, there is no shame in it.

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Please check out this post by Limebird Amber, and most of all, please don’t suffer in silence.
This is a wonderful post. As an enthusiastic family historian, I have found three suicides in my family and it is heart breaking to read newspaper reports and try to imagine what that person was going through at that time, it is still powerful a hundred years or fifty years later.
You never really know what was in a person’s head. Even with a note or journal, everything isn’t written down. It’s a hard thing to see, its a silent killer. People need to be open about it and understand there is no shame.
You are so right, people need to be more aware of it. The people who suffer need to know that others are understanding and the people who don’t suffer need to be there knowing and understanding for their loved ones – that’s why I thought your post was so special.
Thank you for thinking that. I wish we could all have more understanding and more love. It seems to me the world is becoming cold out of fear. But it can always warm up. Its never too late.
I know what you mean, some days it seems as if so many people are simply interested only in themselves – and then I meet lots of lovely folks who have sunshine coming out of them and it changes everything. By putting a caring post on about the suicide awareness, you brightened my day because you lit the human light that is so important.
I’m glad I brightened your day. That’s all I wanted to do. Help someone.
Well you did and that means a lot.

As a child in an extremely loving family and supporting environment, I can’t imagine feeling so alone that you would want to end your own life – and I don’t want to and never want anyone else to, either. I’m wearing LOVE on my wrist today.
Great post, Amber. Thanks for reminding us of this important day.
I hope people are more loud about this from now on.
